The rotor and stator inside rely on water for lubrication and cooling. If the well water level drops while the pump keeps running, internal parts wear out fast.

Install a water level sensor during setup to prevent dry running. This easy fix avoids most avoidable damage.

Note the normal flow rate right after installation.

If flow drops under the same sunlight, start troubleshooting. Common causes: Falling water level, underperforming solar panels, clogged pipes, faulty controllers or wiring, worn rotor/stator.

🏜️ Sandy water is manageable — watch rotor wear closely

Dry, dusty regions like the US Southwest (Texas, Arizona, Nevada) often have sandy water on farms, livestock ranches, and deep bore wells.

Screw pumps handle sand well and suit these water sources. Still, sand wears down the rotor over time.

Good news: easy fix. Inspect and replace the rotor about once a year to preserve performance and service life. No full pump replacement needed.

In dusty farm zones, solar panels build up dirt and sand quickly. Uncleaned panels produce less power and slow down your solar water pump.
